Ingredients

Turkey Sandwich - blog-1

1 1-pound loaf French bread, cut in half horizontally

2/3 cup mayo

4 tsp. Dijon mustard

1 pound thinly sliced, Mesquite turkey breast

1/2 cup mayo

5 Tbls. Finely chopped onion

1-3 cloves garlic, crushed (or more)

Freshly ground pepper to taste

1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Remove bread from inside of sliced loaf, leaving a 1-inch shell.

Combine 2/3 cup mayo and mustard in a small bowl. Spread mixture over inside bottom and top edges of bread halves.

Place bread halves on a baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 5 to 10 minutes or until edges are slightly brown and mayo bubbles.

Layer bread halves with turkey. Combine 1/2 cup mayo, onion, garlic, salt and pepper, and cheese. Spread mixture over turkey.

Broil until heated and top is bubbly and golden.

Can be made in advance and reheated in foil wrap.

(Original recipe calls for chopped or thin sliced tomato on turkey.)
